Post-mortem examinations on the bodies of three children found dead in their Edinburgh home are set to determine whether a murder inquiry will be launched into their deaths.
 
Eight-year-old twins Augustino and Gianluca Riggi and their five-year-old sister Cecilia were discovered on Slateford Road, Edinburgh, after reports of an explosion.
 
Police are waiting to speak to the children's mother, Theresa Riggi, 46, who is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after allegedly jumping from the second floor of the building.
 
The children were reported to have been found stabbed to death in the flat before neighbours reported the explosion, but this has not been confirmed by police.
 
The children's "heartbroken" father, Pasquale Riggi, 46, has been interviewed by police but is not a suspect.
 
A judge had warned the children could be in danger just 24 hours before they were found dead.
