Will 110v appliances work in the United Kingdom?

Hi all.
Might be a stupid question but will 110v appliance plugged into a normal household socket work in the United Kingdom.

Well to use 110v in the uk you will need some sort of step down transformer like
THIS
BUT it all depends what you want to use it for, if you need more power you might need a bigger step down transformer. Have a look

As bobski says you need a transformer, most things are powered down now m8, do you have a maplin by you, whats it for ? not that vibrator is it ?
