What was the problem before you replaced the power supply bits?
I assume you are used to using a soldering iron and solder removing pump or wick?
Have you broken any tracks?
Have you put the capacitors in the correct way round?
Are the ICs in the correct way round?
This may sound basic but people do make mistakes.
The ticking noise is the power supply starting and stopping due to a problem --- protecting itself instead of going bang.

It doesn't matter which way round resistors go.
Check for shorts between tracks .
Was the iron you used too big for the job especially as you are talking about replacing an ic ?
Can't help with a photo -- have you tried to Google it?

As you have been dealing wth satcure then there should be no problem getting a replacement supply.
They will need your old one as an exchange.
