Has anyone got or tried the homeplugs, plug one into the mains and router and the other one near whatever it is you want connected, they use the electric to carry the signal to and from the network.

Not used these myself but have read a lot of good things about them, no network leads hanging around and by all accounts they do what their supposed to do very well.
Not expensive on ebay.

I've read all the write ups and the 200mbps seems to be the ones to get, the 85's they do don't seem as good, have found quite a few people that make them and price varies, before I bite the bullet tho I'd really like to hear it first hand from someone who has used them, must be someone on here.

I have been thinking about buying one of these for a while now, I have a garage down the garden that has a few power sockets and have wanted to have access to the internet when fixing stuff and working on projects.
Would this work at a distance of 25 meters using the normal house wiring??
I have heard that these devices sometimes bugger up amateur radio enthusiasts listening pleasure if they live near to you, that's if you use non British standard models (but not to sure).

Most have a 50m distance, you need 2 of these, and yes, some models do interfere with amateur radio, to which I would say tuff, had a ham radio enthusiast near me once and his set up interefered with tv's, he didn't give a stuff, so I used to go out after dark and cut the leads from his mast, in the end he moved!

About £65 mate, type homeplugs into google, loads of info, ebay sells them as do amazon, there are 2 types, 85mbps and 200, they reckon the 85 is enough for normal use but if your gaming go for the 200
you volunteering to be the guinea pig ??

Just seen them on ebay for £69.99
My Mrs wouldn't justify me spending more money on computers, she knows I have a spare 20 meter Ethernet cable and would tell me to use that. :'(
I will have to work on her..
.......now where's the hoover
