English school lunches

Hi m8's,
Just watched an episode with Jamie Oliver making lunch for school children. Is it true that you feed your children with the junk they showed in the program?
I hope not. Probably twisted information to make Britain look bad.

Have to check up but I think they charge kids around 75p a day for Lunch and allowcate 35p for the meal the rest goes in overheads, real ripe off from these catering companies.

But one thing i've noticed is that the kids do get a choice of crap to eat, when i was in school you ate what was served or go hungry and not a choice in sight.

All I can remember was having to eat poxy cabbage (which I now hate, I wonder why) and lumpy frogs spawn for afters, hated school dinners so much I used to keep the dinner money and get fish and chips at lunch time or go hungry till I got home.

the amazing thing that comes out of the blue in this programme is the behaviour change (for the better) when the kids are eating 'real' food. There is probably a lot of mileage in curing kids 'attitude problems' with the decent food route - but no-one seems to blowing that trumpet yet

I remember the lumpy school custard.Made me want to
throw up.Still hate custard.Enjoyed The lumpy frog spawn. The lumpy blancmonge was the best, thinking about it still brings bile to my throat. The rest was great but we had none of the stuff at school Jamie goes on about.
Generally with those exceptions it was nice food well cooked
and prepared.
