Venting Anger!
Nov 17th, 2004, 11:12pm

Decided to leave my current job and start a new business which will be a subsidery of a larger group.

When I resigned (apart from the company I work for being very pissed off!) most people that work for the company asked if I was looking for people for the new business?

I advertised two jobs, two people from the old company applied in writing, they were interviewed with others and they were offered the jobs (one at £7k above what he gets now the other £5K above) they both sent an acceptance letter saying how much they were looking forward to joining.

They both resigned (simultaniously) causing the brown stuff to hit the fan (I am working my notice) I got sent home on garden leave.

Well, the reason for me writing this? You guessed it, after 7 hours in the office without me to support them they have both U Turned and changed their minds.

What is he world coming to? Tossers! Angry

on the plus side they showed loyalty to the old company which in turn raised their wages to match or better their offer from you

the downside is the same company will be looking for the same 2 half wit type people to take over these jobs at half the wage cost it cost them before

and they say there is no Justice in this world any more

SmileyHope your new step forward works out well.
I doubt very much if I'd want those two people working for me anyway.

@blue

You're right there m8, as others have said better to know now than when they have already made the move!

The only annoying bit is that the relationship with my current almost old employer is now in tatters (which I knew wouldbe the case when the others resigned) where, if they didn't want to join, it would still be okay.

As it happens, and with most things in life, it's all worked out well in the end! I have now employed someone with much greater experience that will be able to assist me with what I do from day 1 without any training as such, I see another guy for the other job next week.

Thanks your everyones comments.

having had my own business now for 12yrs its good to start with fresh staff so you don,t get the same old rubbish plus familiarity with employes.New staff can often bring in fresh eyes to your business and see things that are so obvious to everyone except yourself and remember pay peanuts you get monkeys.As for running your own business first years are total commitment hard work and lots of worry and as for me now I employ 28 staff have 3months holiday a year,work  4days a week start at 11.30 finish when I'v had enough,no mortgage,own 80g worth of cars and still feel its not enough,lifes hard Grin Grin Grin good look and work hard cause when its for yourself all the rewards are yours 8)
