Changing ones email addy. Any problems?
Jul 1st, 2004, 10:04pm

Hi all

I am seriously considering changing my email address. I am getting anything from 20 to 40 junk mail every day and it is really p*****g me off  Angry Angry . I appreciate that I can change my addy for "Steve's" within my Profile. Ok, I have to let my family etc., know.

Are there any other problems that you can think of?

Never used a "Mail washer" I have "System Mechanic 4 Professional" that works well, but not with junk mail. Can you recommend a good "Mail Washer"?.....I would rather do that than change my email addy.

Evnin' all

Trouble is...(in my opinion)... that all these mail washers and spam inspectors and the like, and belive me i've tried a few, dont keep all spam out and even worse chuck some proper mail out as well. Even if you take time to carefull set up various progs...ie key words to eject, addys to ignore etc I still have'nt come across one that does the job 100%.........which is ok if you don't get any mail that would cost you money if it went missing.
All in all I have found that with the time it takes to check and see if your mail washer has'nt deleted anything important, it is just as quick to delete one by one a few times a day, or when ever you log on to your mail.

Like I say, only my opinion, and there might be a 100% washer out there. If there is, I will gladly pay for it legit if I have to.

cheers

I have 3 addresses, 2 on NTL, The main one I never call as that has been spammed to death. The second one I use for personnal mails only, The 3rd one is a yahoo account that I use for general mail ie:- sites.

The pewrsonnel one only ever gets one or two spams a week.
