guys need some help please need to replace an electronic ballast on a lighting unit ok the old ballast
has 8 terminals (wires) and the and the new one has 7 terminals so need to know what why this works

pics of the old and new ballast (old one is the top )

Looks like 1 to 4 is the same and one to seven, can't you put 8 with 7 ?

Looking at the two ballasts, I would say that the only difference is that the old one feeds the two heaters on one side of both lamps, as separate parallel feeds, whereas the new one connects them in series.
If so I would try connecting  1 - 1, 2 - 2, 3 - 3, 4 - 4, 5 - 4, 6 - 5, 7 - 6, and 8 - 7
