Title: Any lcd tv repairmen in please?
Post by capper2824 on Aug 6th, 2010, 10:52pm

Hiya all,

Can someone help me please.

I have an Hitachi 32LD8D20U C that when turned on, briefly shows the screen at the top which states DTV etc. in the right hand part of the screen for maybe a couple of seconds then makes a buzzing noise at the back of the tv (near the power supply) before switching to stand-by.

Would anyone know what this problem could be?

Thank you for any help you could give.

Kind Regards.

Rob.

not 100% sure but it sounds very much like the switch mode power supply playing up, most tv repair men worth their salt could do this.
My son in law had same problem with a 40" samsung lcd, to supply and fit new power supply cost him £60, it's been perfect ever since

Hi Haga,

What is the power board on this model, would you know, because if it's where the mains lead goes in I could simply swap this for a new board if i knew where to find a board. The telly does switch on and there is a brief showing of a box in the right hand side of the screen saying EXT1 or whatever input it is set to, so even if it is switching on can it really be the power board what is the problem? I am not wishing to criticise in anyway haga as I know nothing about telly's but if I see an obvious problem like a blown component I can re-solder no problem.

The one thing I would love to learn is what all components job are, everything they do, but I don't spose there is a book big enough in the world for this LOL.

Anyways thanks haga for your help now and in the future.

All the best.

Regards.

Rob.
