Title: Freesat Channel List / Special Box and Diseq
Post by BeatO on Jun 16th, 2008, 9:05pm

Hi M8s

Two questions:

First: I've been able to scan some of the channels with my PC and Humax/DM receivers. But I can't find any listing with frequencies and PIDs listing the line-up of Freesat, not even on the Freesat page. Does anybody have such a thing.

Second: Does anybody have any experience with the special "Freesat" boxes available in retail outlets in the UK? I'd buy such a thing for the sake of simplicity, IF it supports Disecq, because my setup has the 2D as the 3rd lnb of four configured.

As for Freesat boxes i couldn't tell you m8 but i did buy a second hand fta stb from the bay of e for my sons bedroom and had the features you need (it cost me £20 inclusive of postage).

I know someone who has the Humax box, it seems to operate in two modes, 'Freesat mode' with interactive and EPG etc, and FTA mode as a standard FTA box but it adds all the channels from 8000 onwards.

I did not see any mention of disecq on the menus.

Thank you two for the infos.

sleepy, the lyngsat listing is definitely better in terms of differentiation between "providers" compared to kingofsat.net. But what I can't find there is the Channel 4 HD. I think I saw it as an encrypted channel on S but not FTA. Is it available? Same question for ITV HD, don't seem to find it while running a scan.

Steve, can you remember the type of the humax receiver? Then I could perhaps check it out. On the humax site I was not able to spot one mentioning freesat.

ITV HD does not have a label, you have to enter the pids into a non-freesat box.

The box I've had a play with is this one

Thanks for the Infos.

I've found another page with some details about this box, it was describet to have a software mode for normal FTA and one for Freesat, where you can get from one to the other without loosing the settings. In the normal mode it's possible to do a "normal" scan.
But no info about Disecq.

Thank you very much, didn't find that link on their home page. In the FAQ I've spotted this one:

# Can I connect it to a Multi satellite system?
The Foxsat-HD product can be used with a DiSEqC 1.0 / 2.0 switch or a DiSEqC 1.2 motorised System.

# I have a motorised Satellite Dish, can I use it?
Yes, you can use a Motorised dish (DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS)

Looks good! Next time I visit the UK I might take a closer look at it. Lets see......

I got myself a Fortec Passion HD, get all of Freesat and put my Dragon Cam in it and can get Prem in HD.

Hi Cromwell

Does this mean, that this non-Freesat Receiver can use the proprietary (?) protocol used by Freesat to automatically tune into all the channels and display the correct weekly epg?

I mean, I can tune into the channels as well with my DM or my TT-connect USB device or my SS1 with Prog, but I have to tune the channels manually, some are not even found by a scan and I had to enter them with the PIDs, and EPG has only the current and next on.

If the DM's would support this, that would help as well. ::)

I have never had to do a scan for freesat, you just do a upgrade by the USB, I did a automatically tune for 19e for Prem.
