Title: Sat signal Booster Post by Nick on Aug 20th, 2007, 3:35pm Hi guys, Does anyone have one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Satellite-Signal-Inline-High-Gain-Amplifier-Booster-Sky_W0QQitemZ330157847874QQihZ014QQcategoryZ4693QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'm having a bit of trouble getting a steady signal from Digialb, using a 1mtr dish in the London area, and was wondering if these would help ? Any advise would be good. L8ers Nick |
Title: Re: Sat signal Booster Post by Hamrag1 on Aug 20th, 2007, 4:32pm This amplifier only increases the IF Signal level, so if your downlead is lossy, or more than 20 Mtrs long then it might give an improvement. It cannot improve your signal strength. Only a bigger dish, and/or a better LNB can do that. Hamrag1 |
Title: Re: Sat signal Booster Post by Nick on Aug 21st, 2007, 9:56am ahh right I see so it would only amplify the noise as well as the signal, thus not making any difference... Oh well thanks for the reply Nick |

Title: Re: Sat signal Booster Post by sleepy on Aug 21st, 2007, 8:33pm I had 1 on a 40m run of cable and it made little difference, changed my dish from 80cm to 1.1m with 0.2 lnb and wow. :) |
Title: Re: Sat signal Booster Post by Nick on Aug 22nd, 2007, 11:47am I've brought a 0.2db LNB so hopefully that'll make a difference... Cheers Nick |
